How To Avoid Getting Your Adsense Account Terminated
Google puts a high value on the quality of traffic to its advertisers. Invalid clicks on your Adsense ads can get your Adsense account terminated, even if the clicks were not made by you or any of your Adsence associates.
Breaching the Terms of Service of Adsense or any other forms of advertising, whether intentionally or unintentionally, can mean in a severe penalty: your domain could be banned and your account terminated. So if you are serious about being an Adsense Publisher, do not just think about strategies to generate more earnings. Consider the Terms of Service before you actually get involved. These are some of the breaches that can get your Google account terminated:
'Made for Adsense' Sites - Google is delisting the worst cases of these junk sites, they are a bad long term bet. It is in your long term interests to write web pages containing quality relevant content, which will boost your search engine results. That brings more free traffic to your site and those visitors are seeking the information you are providing. And of course they will also click on Adsense ads more often than a disinterested reader.
Other things to avoid, to keep your Adsense account:
* Never place ads on pages that you display in traffic exchanges.
* Never place ad units on pornographic, racist or hate related sites.
* Never place ad units on your 404 error pages or sign up pages. Keep your ad panels on the content rich pages, this is what the advertisers are paying for.
Hidden text - filling your advertisement page with text that is too small to read, in the same colour as the background, or using a Cascading Stylesheet (CSS) for the sole purpose of loading it with rich keyword content breaches the terms of service and can get your account suspended.
Page cloaking. There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots of a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.
Multiple submissions. Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a URL of an Adsense page as two separate URL's is inviting trouble and even termination. Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are making search engine submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already an a certain search engine before you try to submit to it again. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.
Link farms. Be wary of where you link your Adsense pages to. The search engines know that you cannot control your inbound links, but you are in charge of your outbound links. Link farming has always been frowned upon by search engines, especially Google, so avoid them. Any page with more than 100 links is seen as a link farm, so limit the number of links on your own pages as well.
Automated Clicks from Traffic Exchanges - Any Traffic Exchange that allows credit for automated surfing will show up on your Google Log and is likely to get you into trouble. A service that requires visitors to choose a page to visit - like Linkreferral - is OK, because it delivers higher quality traffic.
Doorway pages. Similar to cloaked links, this is a page loaded with keywords, aimed at redirecting visitors to another "user-friendly" page. This is no no with search engines. Despite this, many SEO firms still offer this service: avoid them at all costs.
Multiple domains with duplicate content. Search engines look at domains' IP's, registry dates and many other factors. The same goes for content multiplied many times on separate pages or sub domains.
These restrictions apply to most search engines, not just Google. By having a mind set that you are building your Adsense site and pages for human readers and not for bots, you can be assured of the great things for your ads and sites. Not to mention avoiding the wrath of the search engines and getting your Adsense and site account terminated altogether.
