One of my favourite kinds of place to stay is in a hotel where you have a kind of self catering suite so that you can prepare a meal or just bring in a takeaway.  In Europe these are sometimes called Aparthotels, in the States they are Condo Hotels.  You get all the hotel facilities at your disposal but a bit more space and flexibility in your rooms. Maybe I am just getting old but I like this idea.
