A Good Leader Is Hard To Find
It’s easy to learn about groups of workers that do a great job and work together with the business owner. This usually indicates he or she must be a great leader, right? Well, maybe not. The mark of a good leader is when his workforce is working just as hard when he’s not there.
Ethics has often been defined as doing the right thing, even when no one is looking and one of the signs of a good leader is when their employee are doing the right thing, even when the leader is not around and there is no threat of them showing up unexpected. Their people understand what the expectations are and what they must do to meet those expectations. Knowing the consequences also helps, but it is more important for the employees to want to do a good job because it will be appreciated, than knowing doing a lousy job will get them fired.
